Relaxing

It's been awhile since I've written, but remember that I never said I could or would write every day. We've had a very nice weekend here, just relaxing as a family. It's not very often that we don't have anything to do all weekend and end up staying home the whole time. I forgot how nice it can be. Lately we've been spending a lot of Saturdays at the antique stores and flea markets in the area looking for much-needed furniture pieces. While it's fun to go out and look at what's available, it makes the weekend fly by. Very often on Monday mornings I'm left feeling like I hardly spent time with my husband over the weekend.

We did a little more than just relax all day yesterday. We each got a number of things done around the house that needed to be done -- pay bills, clean the kitchen, work on baby announcements, sort laundry, etc. None of it took very long, so we were also able to fit in a number of games. Chloe and Kevin took one of their father/daughter walks to the post office and also bought a dresser and returned a movie while I relaxed on the couch (my back isn't up to much walking anymore). They also spent some time reading the newspaper together -- quite adorable! One of the highlights of the day was that I didn't have to cook! We cleaned up some leftovers for lunch, and Kevin cooked one of my favorite meals for supper (roast, potatoes and carrots).

Today Chloe and I went to the later church service, which is always a good way to start a Sunday morning. Chloe doesn't like having to get up early enough to be ready for the 8:45 service. After church we went out for fried chicken (always nice to have a break from cooking). I did a little bit of cooking today after going to the grocery store. I made some BBQ pork to put in the freezer for sandwiches later. I also made a hot chicken dip for snacking during the Super Bowl. Much of the remainder of the day was spent sitting or lying down on the couch, trying to relax.

Kevin noted that yesterday was the equivalent day of when my water broke with Chloe and today would be the day she was born. We've made it farther this time...hurray!! I did get a little worried earlier today as I was already having contractions during church this morning. I've been having contractions in the evenings for a while now, but usually not during the day. I was also feeling just a little "odd" later this afternoon, a little crampy and more contractions. So far the contractions haven't become anything regular. That means we don't have to do anything about it right now. In fact, they're quite irregular with four coming during one hour and only one or two coming the next. It's all enough to make me a little paranoid. I suppose I'll probably stay paranoid until the time actually comes. In the meantime I'm trying to get/keep the house as clean as possible while I'm still relaxing so that it's halfway presentable for the members of the church who will be babysitting Chloe while we're at the hospital. Anyone feel like doing some cleaning?

Wow, even pregnant you are so little! Although I didn't get a full picture of you, you do look great! We have been praying for you and that little girl. I hope she is comfy and stays there for quite some time!

I would love to hear about the furniture you have been buying. I would also like to see some pictures of your house! I have my own pictures in my mind, but you know how that goes.

Brian's aunt died this morning. I just thought you might like to know.
