This evening Chloe and I were looking at a book together, counting the number of ladybugs on each page. Chloe was pointing to each ladybug, and I was saying the number for her. When she got to the last page of the book she spent a long time looking at it. Then she started pointing at the ladybugs and counting "one....two.....fee...." I was so excited and also curious to see how far she would go. "Fee.....fee.....fee" I turned back to the page with only four ladybugs: "one...two...fee....fee" I eventually got her to stop going past the first three. It was very exciting to see this new development.
Throughout the evening I was giving her opportunity to count three fingers. Afterwards I would praise her and ask for a high-five. She LOVES giving high-fives. At one point in the evening she came over wanting a high-five. I quickly put up three fingers. She counted very quickly and eagerly waited for my hand to go up. After squealing with delight, my daughter had a brilliant idea. She realized she didn't need to wait for mommy to give a high-five. So she proceeded to walk around the room to all of the bears sitting out. She picked up each paw and gave all of the bears a high-five. What an adorable and silly girl!
