Well, Lent has arrived already. Kevin was preparing at the beginning of the week to write two sermons when he received a phone call that a member of our church died. He finished the sermon for tonight's service yesterday. I believe he has just finished the sermon for tomorrow's funeral. Now he still has the two services today and tomorrow plus the sermon to write for Sunday. It's Lent, indeed. I suppose we should be thankful that there wasn't a death during Advent as well since Kevin wasn't part of a preaching rotation in Advent. Hopefully after this week things will settle down a little more. His sermon is done for the Lenten rotation. That only leaves the usual Sunday sermons. He also hopes to write the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday sermons early so they're done when I go into labor (God willing).
I haven't been feeling too badly the past few days. I still have quite a bit of energy, though I do kick back and relax often during the day. I suppose the biggest complaint would be the pain I have in my lowest right rib. The baby seems to have claimed this rib for herself and never seems to stop pushing on it. The pain is always there to some extent. Sometimes she kicks it so hard that I literally double over in response. I've tried a few different techniques to get her to move, but she's stubborn. Or maybe she's just too crowded. I try hard not to hold it against her.
