Capturing a Smile

The elusive smile. I've been trying to capture it for a few weeks now. It's amazing how my baby goes from happy and smiley to stoic the moment he notices the camera.

Right before this picture Aaron had a huge smile on his face, but he turned his head at the last second:

Notice what happens when he catches sight of the camera:

This was almost a smile on Daddy's lap:

But lay him down on Daddy's lap and let him see the camera:

Let's try capturing the smile on the changing table. This is his favorite spot to be. He turns his head towards the stairs (on the right) and smiles away. I caught the tail end of this smile, but it wasn't head-on.

"Hey, are you paying attention to me?"...

"Do you really expect me smile for that camera?"

Once again, so close...

But he decided to start talking instead:

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Notice that the picture was captured on the changing table. Doesn't he have such a sweet smile?

Little boy grins are so sweet! I've already decided that I'm gonna be in a lot of trouble with Gerhardt's grin. Oh and I've thought about laying down on our changing table to see what is SO great about it. Gerhardt LOVES ours too. Maybe we're all really missing out! Who knew.
